Ensure a long(er) life of your clipper by regularly cleaning and oiling the blade set. Oiling and maintaining the blade sets reduces friction, heat build-up, wear and protects against environmental factors. Failure to do so will increase pressure on the unit, cause wear on the drive and transmission and reduce the battery's usage time. It is therefore important to consistently clean and oil your clippers! Here is a step-by-step plan:

Open the blade set with a screwdriver. Clean the upper and lower blades with a brush and apply a layer of oil to the blade surfaces.
After oiling, screw the upper and lower blades back onto the unit.
Then switch on the machine for about 10 seconds so that the oil can spread evenly over the blade surface.
