Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction Step 2 300ml - Cadiveu Brasil Cacau is the professional Brazilian treatment for weakened, over-processed hair that needs strengthening as it is smoothed. It works through an organic-acid system: glycolic, lactic and acetic acids realign the fibre under the heat of the iron while hydrolyzed keratin and sericin rebuild it, so the hair is left disciplined, shiny and smoother, without glyoxylic acid or formaldehyde. Sealed with the flat iron at 180 to 230 degrees. For professional use only.

Why Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction

Not every head that needs smoothing is strong enough to take a heavy protein or an aggressive acid. Thermal Reconstruction is the Brasil Cacau option built for hair that is weakened, chemically over-processed or simply unruly and needs rebuilding as much as straightening. Instead of glyoxylic acid, it reconstructs through a blend of organic acids, glycolic, lactic and acetic, that realign the fibre under heat, carried on hydrolyzed keratin and sericin that fill and strengthen it. The front of the pack sums up the intent in three words, discipline and fibre strengthening: this is the treatment when the goal is a stronger, more disciplined result, not the maximum control that thick, resistant hair needs. Organic acids are a gentler route to a smooth, aligned fibre than a heavy protein bomb, which matters on hair that is already compromised, and the sericin, a silk protein, films along the strand to leave it soft rather than stiff. The result is hair that behaves: less frizz, more shine, and a fibre that feels rebuilt rather than simply coated.

Key Ingredients

The reconstruction is driven by an organic-acid system, glycolic, lactic and acetic acid, which reshape the hair under the heat of the iron. Rebuilding the fibre are hydrolyzed keratin and sericin, a silk protein, supported by D-Panthenol, cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) seed butter, coconut oil, shea (Butyrospermum Parkii) butter and wheat germ (Triticum Vulgare) extract. Cocoa butter and coconut oil add slip and softness, shea butter conditions, and wheat germ extract brings its own conditioning proteins. There is no glyoxylic acid and no formaldehyde or releaser in the formula; the smoothing and reconstruction come from the acids and proteins working under the heat of the iron, which is why the flat-iron step is not optional but the moment the treatment sets.

What to Expect

Frizz drops, the hair feels stronger and more disciplined in the hand, and the surface takes on the shine the pack promises. Because the system rebuilds as it smooths, the result reads as healthy and controlled rather than merely flattened, and it fades softly over three to six months as it grows out. What you are reading for at the mirror is body and movement with the frizz gone, not a flat, lifeless cast: the fibre should feel smoother and springier at once. Aftercare, and a sulfate-free routine in particular, decides how long it lasts.

Who It Is For

  • Weakened, over-processed or chemically-treated hair that needs reconstruction as well as smoothing
  • Unruly, frizzy hair that needs discipline and strength, not just a straighter finish
  • Clients who want a keratin-style treatment worked without glyoxylic acid or formaldehyde

Who It Is Not For

  • Extremely damaged hair, which the label rules out
  • Hair that still bounces back under a wet-stretch test, where a lighter smoothing fits better
  • Very thick, coarse or highly resistant hair, better served by Smoothing Protein

Professional tip: dry to 80 per cent before you apply, not bone dry; the fibre should be damp enough to take the product evenly but dry enough that the acids are not diluted, which is what gives the reconstruction its grip through the lengths. On very porous ends, ease off to fewer iron passes so you strengthen the fibre without over-working it.

How to Use

This is the manufacturer protocol, written out in full and explained. Carry out a sensitivity test and a strand test first to set your iron temperature and passes.

  1. Clarify. Wash the hair twice with the Anti-Residue Shampoo. The first lather lifts oils and product; on the second, leave it on for 5 minutes to swell the fibre and lift the cuticle, then rinse well.
  2. Dry to 80%. Blow-dry the hair to about 80%: damp but not wet. Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction is applied to towel-and-blow-dried hair, not soaking and not bone-dry, so it spreads evenly and grips the fibre.
  3. Section. Split the hair into 6 clipped sections and work from the more resistant zones toward the front.
  4. Apply. In thin sub-sections, apply Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction with a brush starting one centimetre from the root, off the scalp, then comb through with a fine-tooth comb so every strand is evenly coated. Coat well without over-loading.
  5. Dry, then seal with heat straight away. There is no long processing pause: dry the hair to 100% immediately, then flat-iron in thin, taut sections, 15 to 20 passes through the root and length and fewer at the ends, adjusting to the integrity of the hair, at 180 to 230 degrees Celsius. The heat is what sets the reconstruction and the smoothing.
  6. Finish. Rinse, then work the Deep Conditioning Mask through the lengths for 5 to 10 minutes, rinse, blow-dry and finish.

For professional use only. Wear suitable gloves and work in a well-ventilated area. Always carry out a sensitivity and strand test before the service. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and scalp; in case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not use on an irritated or injured scalp, on extremely damaged hair, or on children. Pregnant or lactating clients should consult a doctor. Contains fragrance allergens including Cinnamal, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene and Linalool. External use only.

Where It Fits in the Cadiveu Range

Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction is one of the four Brasil Cacau smoothing systems. For coloured, bleached or fine hair choose Eco Keratin; for thick, coarse or resistant hair choose Smoothing Protein; choose Thermal Reconstruction when the hair needs strengthening and discipline as well. All three share the same Anti-Residue Shampoo and Deep Conditioning Mask. Keep the result at home with the Brasil Cacau home care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Brazilian Thermal Reconstruction contain formaldehyde?

No. There is no formaldehyde and no releaser preservative in the formula. The reconstruction works through an organic-acid system, glycolic, lactic and acetic acid, together with hydrolyzed keratin and sericin, sealed under the heat of the flat iron rather than by any formaldehyde chemistry.

What is the difference between Thermal Reconstruction and Eco Keratin or Smoothing Protein?

Thermal Reconstruction rebuilds and disciplines weakened hair through organic acids and keratin. Eco Keratin is the gentle glyoxylic-acid smoothing for coloured and fine hair; Smoothing Protein is the stronger glyoxylic smoothing for thick, resistant hair. Choose Thermal Reconstruction when the priority is strengthening as well as smoothing.

Is it for professional use only?

Yes. It is a professional salon treatment, for use by hairdressers only, worn with gloves in a well-ventilated area and sealed with a flat iron. Always run a sensitivity and strand test first, and do not use it on irritated skin, extremely damaged hair or children.

How long does the result last?

With the right aftercare the result lasts three to six months, fading softly as it grows out. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and the Anti-Frizz home range to preserve it. The exact duration depends on hair type, porosity and how the hair is cared for at home between visits.

What temperature should I use on the flat iron?

Seal between 180 and 230 degrees, choosing the setting for the integrity of the hair rather than one fixed number. On finer or more fragile lengths work at the lower end and take fewer passes at the ends, judging the condition as you go.

Does it contain wheat?

Yes. The formula includes wheat germ (Triticum Vulgare) extract as a conditioning agent, so it is worth noting for clients with a known wheat sensitivity. It also contains hydrolyzed keratin and sericin, which is why the treatment is not suitable for a vegan routine.
