What Piur London Professional does
Piur London Professional is the salon half of Piur London: four protocols, each a fixed sequence of named steps for one hair problem, in backbar sizes. Rebonding and Reactive Pro are the two smoothing services, split by how much heat the hair can take. Sensorial Repair runs the S.P.R. protocol for fibre worn down by chemical services and heat. Hydraluxe is the hydration protocol for dry, porous hair. Two products sit across them: Mask Therapy, the ten-minute option when there is no time for S.P.R., and Stabilizer, used inside other chemical services.
Why the Professional line
Because every product knows its place. Each one names the step it follows and the step after it, so the order is never a guess at the backwash. The four smoothing-service products, Rebonding Shampoo, Keraplex, Reactive Pro Shampoo and Smooth Therapy, carry the formaldehyde-free seal, and those four plus Mask Therapy carry the V-Label vegan mark. And Piur London states the limits of its own products plainly. We think those limits are the most useful thing on this page, which is why the table below gives each protocol its own.
Which protocol you need
Read the hair first, then pick the row:
| Hair in the chair | Protocol | Steps, in order | The limit Piur London sets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chemically resistant hair, frizz and volume, takes high heat | Rebonding | Rebonding Shampoo, Rebonding Keraplex | Not for blonde, highlighted or sensitised hair |
| Blonde, highlighted or sensitised hair, frizz and volume | Reactive Pro | Reactive Pro Shampoo, Reactive Pro Smooth Therapy | The iron stays inside its lower printed range, 160 to 190 °C |
| Heavy chemical history, porous, reduced elasticity | Sensorial Repair (S.P.R.) | S.P.R. Shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect, Acidic Closure | Protein Infusion is never used alone; Acidic Closure is not a finisher outside the protocol |
| Dry, porous or dull hair that never feels replenished | Hydraluxe | Prime D-Tox, Hydraluxe Shampoo, Moisture Infusion, Hydraluxe Balm | Moisture Infusion does not replace Prime D-Tox on hair with heavy mineral build-up |
| Any client with ten minutes at the basin | Mask Therapy | One step | Not a substitute for S.P.R. when elasticity is the reason for the appointment |
| Hair going through colour, lightening or straightening | Stabilizer | Sprayed through mid-lengths and ends before, during or after the chemical service | A companion to the service, not a protocol step; it stays in the salon |
Application
The steps by name; times and temperatures are on each product page.
- Rebonding: Rebonding Shampoo, dry 100%, Keraplex, rinse, dry 100%, iron in fine sections.
- Reactive Pro: Reactive Pro Shampoo with a cool rinse, dry fully, Smooth Therapy, rinse, dry 100%, iron in fine sections.
- S.P.R.: S.P.R. Shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect over it with no rinse in between, one joint rinse, then Acidic Closure to close.
- Hydraluxe: Prime D-Tox, Hydraluxe Shampoo, Moisture Infusion, each rinsed, then a light hand of Hydraluxe Balm, which is never rinsed out.
Combine your system
Build the service in three parts: the protocol for the hair, Stabilizer when a colour, lightening or straightening service is running at the same time, and the matching Piur London Home Care routine so the client keeps the result: Reactive Pro Home Care after Reactive Pro, Sensorial Repair Home Care after S.P.R., Hydraluxe Home Care after Hydraluxe. Salons starting S.P.R. can take the four steps together as the S.P.R. Full Protocol kit.
Shop by collection
Rebonding: Shampoo and Keraplex. Reactive Pro: Shampoo and Smooth Therapy. Sensorial Repair: the four S.P.R. steps, the Full Protocol kit, Mask Therapy and Stabilizer. Hydraluxe: Prime D-Tox, Shampoo, Moisture Infusion and Balm. Every range sits under Piur London.
Summary
Two smoothing services split by heat, one protocol for worn fibre, one for dry hair, a ten-minute mask for busy days and a companion for chemical services. Run each in its order and respect the limit in the table.
Frequently asked questions
Rebonding or Reactive Pro: which one for this hair?
Rebonding for chemically resistant hair that can take the iron at 160 to 230 °C. Reactive Pro for blonde, highlighted or sensitised hair: Smooth Therapy is ironed at 160 to 190 °C and carries a violet pigment for the reflect. If the hair has been lightened, choose Reactive Pro.
Can the S.P.R. steps be skipped or used out of order?
No. It is a closed four-step system and each product points to the next. Protein Infusion is not rinsed before Seal & Protect goes on over it, and Acidic Closure always closes the service. Rinsing early or changing the order loses what the infusion put in.
Can the Hydraluxe steps be skipped or used out of order?
The intended order is Prime D-Tox, Shampoo, Moisture Infusion, Balm, and each of the first three is rinsed before the next. The Balm is the only step that stays in. Prime D-Tox can also be used on its own, as a pre-treatment before a colour, lightening or other chemical service.
Which Piur professional products are formaldehyde-free?
Four: Rebonding Shampoo, Rebonding Keraplex, Reactive Pro Shampoo and Reactive Pro Smooth Therapy, the steps of the two smoothing services. Piur London does not present the S.P.R. or Hydraluxe products with that seal.
Does Mask Therapy replace the full S.P.R. protocol?
No. Mask Therapy is the ten-minute option for when there is no time for the full four steps, or as an add-on after a colour or a blow-dry. When the fibre's elasticity is what the appointment is about, run the complete S.P.R. sequence.
