JRL Diamante clipper and trimmer: specifications, battery, colours and sets
The JRL Diamante is JRL Professional's clipper and trimmer line for the barbershop: a clipper and a trimmer. The boxes of the orange Diamante clipper and the orange Diamante trimmer both list a brushless motor, Smart-Clip and Reset IQ, and the clipper box adds Cool Blade. Per the box, the orange clipper runs up to 4 hours on a charge, the orange trimmer up to 2 hours. The shop carries three colours, black, yellow and orange, sold singly or as a combo.

What is the JRL Diamante collection?
Two tools: a clipper for cutting and fading, and a trimmer for lines, edges and beards. On the boxes of the orange version, both have a brushless motor, Smart-Clip and Reset IQ. You choose a colour per tool, or take the clipper and trimmer combo in one colour. For a shaver as well, there are the Diamante x Onyx Barber Pro trio kit and the master kit.
Orange JRL Diamante clipper: what does the box say?
A brushless motor with two speeds, 6,500 and 8,200 rpm, a blade that adjusts from 0 to 3 mm and a battery the box rates at up to 4 hours. These are the specifications as JRL prints them on the box of the orange clipper (T2025C14):
How we use those figures at the chair: the lower speed for detail work around the ear, the full 8,200 rpm for bulk removal. Cool Blade is JRL's name for the precision fade blade; per the box it stays ultra-cool even after prolonged use. The lever lock, per the box, keeps the lever stable in intensive use.
Orange JRL Diamante trimmer: what does the box say?
An 8,200 rpm brushless motor, an EZ-Gap blade adjustment of 0 to 0.5 mm and a battery rated up to 2 hours. The specifications as printed on the box of the orange trimmer (T2025T14):
With the second-generation EZ-Gap, the box says the blade moves up or down without effort, within 0 to 0.5 mm. Up to two hours of battery per the box; a fast charge takes 2 hours, a reset charge 3 hours.
Clipper or trimmer: which one for which job?
What do Smart-Clip, Cool Blade and Reset IQ mean?
Three names JRL uses on the boxes of the orange version: Smart-Clip and Reset IQ on both, Cool Blade on the clipper box. In the packaging's own words:
- Smart-Clip Constant motor speed: the technology keeps the motor from slowing or stalling.
- Cool Blade The clipper's precision fade blade, which per the box stays ultra-cool even after prolonged use.
- Reset IQ Charging technology that extends battery life; the Reset IQ charging dock comes in the clipper box.
How do you charge the JRL Diamante?
The clipper charges on the supplied Reset IQ charging dock, with the adapter (100 to 240 V). The boxes give two charge times per tool: a fast charge and a longer reset charge. Clipper: 2.5 hours fast, 5 hours reset. Trimmer: 2 hours fast, 3 hours reset. The clipper's LED display shows the remaining battery time, so you see when it needs to go back on the dock.
What is in the box?
Our care advice: brush the hair out of the blade after every client and oil the blades regularly; the clipper box includes lubricating oil. Both boxes carry a do-not-use-in-the-shower pictogram, so do not rinse the tools under the tap.
Which colours and sets are there?
Black, yellow and orange, each as a single clipper, a single trimmer or a combo: combo black, combo yellow and combo orange. JRL accessories such as guards and chargers are listed separately in the shop.
