Piur London 4D-DEFENSE (250 ml) is a leave-in spray for daily protection, labelled for all hair types. The bottle names its Omni-Shield Complex™ and four protections: heat, humidity, friction and environmental aggressors, with no build-up and no weight. It goes on damp hair, 2 to 3 sprays from mid-lengths to ends, combed through, then dried or left to air-dry, daily after shampooing.

4D-DEFENSE is the everyday layer between the client's hair and what happens to it after the wash: the dryer, the brush, the weather. The bottle names four protections and prints the claim that it reduces breakage during brushing and styling. Its list shows how: polysilicone-29 and amodimethicone, two silicones, carry the slip, with linseed seed extract, hydrolyzed quinoa, carob seed extract and soy protein in the formula.

How to use

Two ways to work it: the directions printed on the bottle, and the way we run it in the salon, with the figures left to Method A.

Method A: manufacturer method

1. Apply 2 to 3 sprays to damp hair from mid-lengths to ends.
2. Comb through gently and proceed with drying, or let air-dry.
3. For optimal protection, use daily after shampooing.

Method B: the Brazilian method

1. After shampooing, towel-dry.
2. The printed number of sprays, mid-lengths to ends, then comb through gently.
3. Blow-dry or let it air-dry.
4. With hot tools, still set the tool to the lowest heat that styles the hair. That is salon practice.
