Which Salvatore home care after which salon treatment? The chooser, set by set

Salvatore Home Care is the everyday line that goes with the Tanino Therapy and Blue Gold salon treatments, and every salon treatment has its own set: after a smoothing the Chemical Repair duo, after bleaching or toning the Blond Hair duo, after a curl treatment the Curl Hair trio. After a structure treatment (F, G, J) the Restructuring duo, after a moisture treatment (D) the Hydrating duo and for the scalp the Scalp duo. Each set is a shampoo (Step 1) plus a mask (Step 2) of 300 and 250 ml, and the leave-ons Tanino Touch and T.T. Protein go on top. The whole line is on the Home Care page.

Which set after which treatment?

SMOOTHING
After Tanino Therapy A+B or Blue Gold Step 1+2: the Chemical Repair duo. With Tanino Touch if wanted, for blow-drying and flat-ironing.
BLONDE AND TONING
After bleaching, or for blonde and grey hair that picks up warm tones: the Blond Hair duo. Freshly coloured? Chemical Repair (pH) first, then Blond Hair.
CURLS
After the curl steps M, N and O or the Curl Transition Kit: the Curl Hair trio with shampoo, mask and leave-in.
STRUCTURE
After steps F, G or J, or the AGJ kit: the Restructuring duo. Salvatore advises on the Chemical Repair mask to alternate with the Restructuring line.
MOISTURE
After Step D or for dry hair of any type: the Hydrating duo.
SCALP
For a combination or oily scalp: the Scalp duo, with plant extracts for scalp comfort, per the bottle.

Our rule for the retail shelf: every salon that smooths puts out the Chemical Repair duo, plus the one set that fits its own clientele. Blondes in the chair? Blond Hair. Curls? Curl Hair. More than three sets on the shelf rarely sell better than two you use yourself.

What does each bottle say?

Per set: what the directions prescribe. All shampoos go on wet hair, are massaged gently, spread from lengths to ends without rubbing the fibre, rinsed and repeated if needed; then the mask.

Chemical Repair · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml
WHAT FOR
The pH line for chemically treated hair and the maintenance after the smoothing.
USE
Shampoo on wet hair, rinse, repeat if needed. Mask on lengths and ends, spread with a medium comb, 3 to 5 minutes, rinse. Singles: shampoo and mask.
Blond Hair · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml
WHAT FOR
Coloured, bleached and grey hair: blue and violet micro-pigments neutralise yellowish tones, per the label.
USE
Shampoo on wet hair, rinse. Mask 3 to 5 minutes, or adjust the time to the tone you want, rinse. Singles: shampoo and mask.
Curl Hair · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml + leave-in 300 ml
WHAT FOR
Curly, wavy and afro hair; the shampoo is made, per the bottle, to avoid drying the ends.
USE
Shampoo on wet hair, rinse with cold or lukewarm water. Mask on lengths and ends, spread with a comb, rinse. Leave-in in the palm, from lengths to ends, knead from the ends to the root.
Restructuring · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml
WHAT FOR
Daily use for damaged hair, per the bottle: gentle cleansing, and a mask dosed for daily use without weighing down.
USE
Shampoo on wet hair, rinse, repeat if needed. Mask on lengths and ends, spread with a comb, rinse.
Hydrating · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml
WHAT FOR
All hair types that lack moisture; the mask helps, per the bottle, to hold water in the fibre.
USE
Shampoo: follow the bottle. Mask on lengths and ends, spread with a comb, 3 to 5 minutes, rinse.
Scalp · shampoo 300 ml + mask 250 ml
WHAT FOR
Combination and oily scalp; plant extracts and a balanced pH, per the bottle.
USE
Shampoo massaged gently into the scalp with the fingertips, spread, rinse. Mask on lengths and ends, 3 to 5 minutes, rinse.
Tanino Touch 120 ml · T.T. Protein 120 ml
WHAT FOR
Leave-ons for after the treatment: Tanino Touch with heat protection for dryer and flat iron; T.T. Protein as a spray serum with collagen, elastin and D-panthenol.
USE
Tanino Touch: small amount on clean, moist hair, lengths to ends. T.T. Protein: spray on dry or wet hair on lengths and ends, comb through.

Does it have to be sulphate-free?

Not with Salvatore. The brand prescribes no sulphate-free shampoo anywhere, and the Chemical Repair shampoo, the Blond Hair shampoo and the other Step 1 shampoos contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate; the masks and leave-ons contain no sulphate. What the brand does prescribe is its own line after the treatment. So we do not sell a sulphate-free label the bottle does not carry, and we also say what the line is not: not certified vegan, and the shampoos not sulphate-free.

How long does the result last with the right set?

For a smoothing, count on three to five months, depending on aftercare. That aftercare is the Chemical Repair duo; Salvatore prints no month figure on the pack and we give no guarantee. Which set pairs with which salon step?

Anyone who knows the salon line recognises the pairs: A+B and Blue Gold go with Chemical Repair; M, N and O with Curl Hair; F, G and J with Restructuring; D with Hydrating; blonde with Blond Hair. What do you watch for?

The home line is for daily use and not a salon treatment; the allergy test Salvatore prescribes for Blue Gold applies to the salon steps. For all products, avoid contact with the eyes and rinse with running water if it happens; stop at any abnormal reaction and seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children.

Which shampoo do you use after a Salvatore taninoplastia?
The Chemical Repair shampoo (Step 1) with the Chemical Repair mask (Step 2), together the Chemical Repair duo. Salvatore ties the maintenance of Tanino Therapy and Blue Gold to its own everyday line; the Blue Gold Premium Step 2 bottle says 'For the treatment maintenance, recommended an Everyday Use on Salvatore Line.' The mask stays on for 3 to 5 minutes.
Does the shampoo after a tannin treatment have to be sulphate-free?
