Salvatore Tanino Therapy steps A to O: which step does what, and which kit is which protocol?
Salvatore Tanino Therapy is a system of letters: Step A and Step B are the tannin smoothing, and steps D, E, F, G, J, M, N and O are separate products you place before or after that smoothing for moisture, oil, pH, cuticle, cortex or curls. You do not need all of them; you choose per client. Salvatore bundles the fixed combinations as kits, and every kit is in effect a protocol with a name: ABG, ABFD, MBFNO. What do Step A and Step B do?
Step A is the Cuticle Prepper clarifying shampoo, which opens the cuticle and is washed 2 to 3 times; Step B is the Capillary Styling tannin conditioner, left on for at least 30 minutes on hair pre-dried by half and then set with the flat iron in thin sections, 10 to 20 passes. Together they are the smoothing; everything that follows builds on it. Both come in 100, 500 and 1000 ml and as an A+B kit in 2x100, 2x500 and 2x1000 ml.

Per letter: the job, what the bottle prescribes and the size we stock.
Which kit is which protocol?
A Salvatore kit is not a discount on single bottles; it is a fixed order of letters for one goal. Read the letters and you read the protocol.

How do you combine the letters?
This is what the bottles say, and we go no further: F is meant before and after chemical procedures; G belongs with the flat-iron work, at a temperature suited to the hair type; O comes after the curl treatment; E can go before or after blow-drying. All masks go on hair washed with the Tanino Therapy shampoo.
Our rule for a salon just starting out: buy A+B and one letter that fits your clients. Lots of coloured hair? F. Lots of fine or porous hair? G. Lots of curls? M, N and O. Which sizes do the steps come in?
Step A and B in 100, 500 and 1000 ml; the masks D, F, G, J and N in 500 ml; the shampoo M in 1000 ml; the leave-in O in 500 ml; the oil E in 60 ml. The A+B kit 2x100 ml is the trial size; a salon that runs the smoothing weekly rebuys A more often than B and therefore works with single litres.
What do you watch for when working with the steps?
Run the allergy test as Salvatore prescribes it for Blue Gold, before Step B as well: on the forearm and nape. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse with running water if it happens; stop at any abnormal reaction and seek medical advice. External use only, out of reach of children.
