Professional tip
Our rule with this dryer is to work the cold-air lock, not the heat. Dry each section on the heat and speed the hair asks for, then press and lock the cold-air button and let the section cool right on the brush before you release it. Hair holds the shape it cools in. On short work we keep the narrower nozzle on and the air follows the comb; on brush work the wider one covers a broader band. Keep the nozzle a finger's width off the brush and keep your hand moving.
How to use
- Fit the narrower or the wider nozzle onto the outlet before you switch on.
- Plug in to a 230-240 V outlet and move the lower rocker from 0 to speed I or II.
- Set the heat on the upper rocker, one of three positions, to suit the hair.
- Dry section by section, the nozzle following your brush from root to tip, hand moving.
- Press the cold-air button to set a section; lock it for cold air without holding the button.
- Switch off at the lower rocker and unplug.
Care and maintenance
Airflow is the whole job, so the filter is the whole maintenance. The rear filter detaches: unplug, let the dryer cool, take the filter off, brush the hair and lint out of the mesh, and refit it before the next client. In a busy chair we check it weekly; a warm, dusty smell or a drop in air means do it now. Wipe the body with a dry cloth, never under water. Frequently asked questions
Is 2300 W too hot for fine or bleached hair?
No, because the wattage is the rating of the dryer, not a fixed air temperature you are stuck with. You choose from three heat settings and two speeds, and the separate cold-air button gives you a cool stream at any point. The headline figure is 2300 W and the rated range is 2100-2300 W. For fine or colour-treated hair we work on the lower heat with the nozzle moving, and finish on cold air.
Can I use it abroad with a plug adapter?
Only in countries on the same mains voltage. The Avanzato is rated for 230-240 V and is not dual voltage. A plug adapter changes the pin shape, not the voltage, so it is fine for the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe. It is not suitable for lower-voltage mains, even with an adapter. What does 'long life digital motor' actually mean?
It is BaBylissPRO's own description of the motor in this dryer. In the trade, 'digital' is generally used for electronically controlled motors, as opposed to conventional brushed ones; BaBylissPRO does not detail how this motor is built. 'Long life' is the maker's durability claim for it. BaBylissPRO publishes no hour or rpm figure for the Avanzato, so we quote none. What is checkable is the pairing: a 2300 W motor inside a body that weighs 365 g.
Does it come with a diffuser?

Will the ionic function flatten fine hair?
