Professional tip

Work down through the guard sizes, longest first, and blend each step in before you move to the next one rather than jumping sizes. With six guards from 13 mm to 1.5 mm, every step is a short one. Brush the hair out of the blade between sections, so each length cuts as cleanly as the first.

How to use

1. Before the first client, brush the blade clean and put a few drops of the lubricating oil across the teeth.
2. Charge the clipper on the charging base before use.
3. Fit a guard, starting with the longest length you need.
4. Cut against the direction of growth to take the bulk off, then move to the shorter guards to blend.
5. Between clients, switch the clipper off and brush the hair out of the blade.

Care and maintenance

After each client, switch the clipper off, brush the hair from the teeth with the cleaning brush, and wipe the housing with a dry cloth. At the end of the day, and whenever the blade drags, put a few drops of the lubricating oil across the teeth, run the clipper for a few seconds and wipe off the excess. Never rinse it: cleaning stays dry.
