The Wahl Vanish Shaver is the 5-Star cord/cordless shaver from Wahl Professional, and in the barber's chair it is the machine for the last pass. The clipper takes the bulk, the trimmer sets the line, and the Vanish finishes on hair the other two have already brought down. Why the Vanish Shaver
A cut in the chair runs in a fixed order. The clipper takes the bulk and builds the fade, the trimmer draws the outline, and the shaver takes the last pass. That third step is the Vanish's job. Because a foil shaver works on hair that is already short, the length work always comes first, and that is why we sell the Vanish next to our Wahl clippers and trimmers rather than as a tool on its own.

Professional tip
Do the length work first, so the shaver only ever meets short hair. Then stretch the skin with your free hand, keep the head flat and work in short, overlapping passes with light pressure. Our rule at the chair: let the foil do the work, and go over an area again rather than pressing harder on one spot.
How to use
- Take the length down with the clipper, then set the line with the trimmer; the shaver is the last pass.
- Before each client, check that the foil is seated and has no dent or tear. Replace a damaged foil before you use the shaver again.
- Stretch the skin with your free hand and hold the head flat against it.
- Work in short, overlapping passes with light pressure; go over an area again rather than pressing harder.
- Switch off and brush the hair out of the head before you put the shaver down.
Care and maintenance
After each client, switch the shaver off and brush the hair out of the foil and the cutters with a soft, dry brush, without pressing on the foil. Clean it dry: never rinse it under the tap or put it in liquid. When the foil is damaged or the cut starts to drag, replace the foil and the cutter bars.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the Vanish fit next to my clipper and trimmer?
It is the last pass. Take the length down with the clipper, set the line with the trimmer, then finish with the Vanish on hair that is already short. It is not the tool for taking bulk off or setting outlines.
Can I rinse it under the tap?
No. Clean it dry with a brush. Never rinse it under the tap or put it in liquid, and keep it and its cord away from wet surfaces at the station.
How do I clean it?
After each client, switch it off and brush the hair out of the foil and the cutters with a soft, dry brush, without pressing on the foil. Replace the foil and the cutter bars when the foil is damaged or the cut starts to drag.
