The Wahl 5 Star cordless Detailer Li is Wahl Professional's lithium-ion cord/cordless trimmer for the outline, the line-up and the beard shape. It is built around an adjustable T-Wide blade: T-shaped and 40.6 mm wide, with blades that adjust to zero-gap, and the Pro-Set tool for that adjustment is included. It runs up to 100 min on its lithium-ion battery.

Why the Detailer Li
A cut in the chair runs in a fixed order: the clipper takes the length and builds the blend, the trimmer sets the line, and the foil shaver finishes. This is the trimmer in that order, and WAHL puts its job in one line: “EXTREMELY-CLOSE TRIMMING CREATES A CRISP, CLEAN LINE”. Its blade is the reason to choose it. We would put it on the station of a barber whose day is line work.

Professional tip
Use the full width of the blade for long straight lines and its corner for detail around the ear and the beard line.
How to use
- With the trimmer switched off, check the blade. If it needs setting, adjust it to zero-gap with the Pro-Set tool.
- Still with the trimmer off, check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin.
- Brush the blade clean and put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth.
- Stretch the skin and set the outline with light pressure.
Care and maintenance
After each client, switch off and brush the hair from the teeth and around the blade with a soft, dry brush, then wipe the housing with a dry cloth. At the end of the day, and whenever the blade starts to drag, put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth, run the trimmer for a few seconds and wipe off the excess. The Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml is the bottle for the station; the Wahl Oil Tube 10ml is the tube for your case.

How do I look after the blade?
Brush the hair out of the teeth with a dry brush after each client and wipe the housing with a dry cloth. At the end of the day, or when the blade starts to drag, put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth, run it for a few seconds and wipe off the excess. Never rinse it.
