Gamma+ XCEED vs CYBORG vs BOOSTED UP: which cordless clipper for fades and bulk work?
We carry three Gamma+ cordless barber clippers, and each one runs a different motor. The BOOSTED UP runs a Super Torque rotary motor. The CYBORG is the full-metal clipper with a lever for the left or the right hand. The XCEED has a motor that speeds up under load. So the real choice is about the motor, the way you set the length and the guard range, not about which one "cuts better".

How do the three cordless clippers compare side by side?

What is the difference between the three motors?
Each series has its own drive. The BOOSTED UP runs a Super Torque DC rotary motor at 7,200 rpm, the familiar rotary feel a barber knows from a day of volume work. The CYBORG uses a digital brushless motor at 7,500 rpm, with high torque, low vibration and low noise. It sits in a heavy-duty, full-metal body.
The XCEED is the odd one out. Its Vector IN2 motor carries I.T.C., intuitive torque control: it idles at 8,500 rpm and rises to 11,500 rpm as the blade meets resistance. That is a mechanism, not a promise of a cleaner cut. What we notice is a clipper that keeps its pace through the dense patch on the crown.
Which one for fades, bulk removal, long days or a left hand?
Lever, brackets or guards: how do you set the length?
Three different answers, and this is where the three feel most different in the hand. The XCEED has two ergonomic levers: one for the Click System with six clicks, for a length you can come back to, and one for Freestyle. The BOOSTED UP lets you build the taper: fit the TIGHT or the STRETCH bracket for a short or a long taper, then pick a Click System or Floating System lever. The CYBORG keeps it to one lever, click or floating, on the side you cut with.
On the BOOSTED UP and the CYBORG the blade is micro-adjustable; Gamma+ calls it Adjustable Zero Gap. The CYBORG comes with a cleaning and maintenance kit with a mini screwdriver for that adjustment. Our advice: closed for a sharp line, a touch back for daily cutting, and a light hand on the skin; it is still a clipper, not a shaver. Whichever clipper you choose, we would set the baseline length on a stepped lever before the client sits down.
Which spare Gamma+ blades and trimmers do we stock?
Our shop also stocks spare Gamma+ blades: Echo DLC, Fade DLC, Fade Gold Titanium, Taper DLC, Faper DLC and Faper Blue Titanium. The XCEED carries the Echo DLC blade with the Crunch function, which Gamma+ says allows thinner and deeper grooves. If you are not sure which blade suits your clipper, ask us before you order.
Guards differ per model in count and range, so count the guard set in your decision. Whatever blade you mount, it needs a drop of oil after every client. DLC, Black Diamond Carbon, is a hard-wearing coating, and it does not lubricate itself: brush the hair out, a drop along the blade, let the tool run for a few seconds, wipe off the excess. The BOOSTED UP re-skins
The CYBORG is the one that does not re-skin. It has a heavy-duty, full-metal body, and that is the point of it.
