Gamma+ XCEED vs CYBORG vs BOOSTED UP: which cordless clipper for fades and bulk work?
Gamma+ makes three cordless barber clippers, and the series name tells you which motor is in your hand. The BOOSTED UP is the light rotary workhorse. The CYBORG is the heavy, full-metal clipper with a lever for the left or the right hand. The XCEED is the flagship whose motor speeds up under load. The same six fixed blades fit all three, so the real choice is about weight, lever feel and the guard range in the box, not about which one "cuts better". In the price ladder the BOOSTED UP is the entry point and the XCEED the top; the CYBORG sits between them.

Our rule for a first Gamma+ clipper: weight first, lever second, motor last. All three cut a fade; only one of them will still feel right in your hand at the end of a Saturday.
How do the three cordless clippers compare side by side?
Every figure below comes from the Gamma+ product sheet of that clipper, as recorded in our master copysheet.
What is the difference between the three motors?
Each series is named after its drive, so the name on the body tells you which motor is inside. The BOOSTED UP runs a Super Torque DC rotary motor at a fixed 7,200 rpm, the familiar rotary feel a barber knows from a day of volume work. The CYBORG uses a digital brushless motor at 7,500 rpm, tuned for high torque and low vibration. It sits in a 430 g metal body, so the weight plants the tool on the head and the motor does not have to fight.
The XCEED is the odd one out. Its Vector IN2 motor carries I.T.C., intuitive torque control, which the product sheet describes as a system that reads the load on the blade. The aim, in the sheet's own words, is a fluid, even cut that does not bog down. That is a mechanism, not a promise of a cleaner cut. What you feel is a clipper that keeps its pace through the dense patch on the crown.
Which one for fades, bulk removal, long days or a left hand?
Lever, brackets or guards: how do you set the length?
Three different answers, and this is where the three feel most different in the hand. The XCEED puts two feels on one lever: a Click side with six marked steps for a length you can come back to, and a Freestyle side that moves without steps. The BOOSTED UP lets you build the taper: fit the TIGHT bracket for a short taper or the STRETCH bracket so the taper travels further up, then pick a Click System or Floating System lever. The CYBORG keeps it to one lever, click or floating, on the side you cut with.
On the BOOSTED UP and the CYBORG the blade has an adjustable Zero Gap that you set with the maintenance kit in the box: closed for a sharp line, a touch back for daily cutting. Zero Gap asks for a light hand on the skin; it is a choice for a crisp edge, not a shaver. The XCEED's Echo blade works across its lever range of 0.3 to 1.7 mm. Whichever clipper you choose, we would set the baseline length on a stepped lever before the client sits down.
Do the blades and guards swap between the three?
The fixed blades do. Six Gamma+ fixed blades fit the XCEED, BOOSTED UP and CYBORG clippers: Echo DLC, Fade DLC, Fade Gold Titanium, Taper DLC, Faper DLC and Faper Blue Titanium. Faper is a hybrid of fade and taper, and Crunch on the Echo blade is a tooth geometry with thinner, deeper grooves, not a setting you switch on. So you can buy one body and re-blade it for the job; a second clipper is not needed for that.
Guards are a different story: counts and ranges differ per model, so count the guard set in your decision. Whatever blade you mount, it needs a drop of oil after every client. DLC, Black Diamond Carbon, is a hard-wearing coating, and it does not lubricate itself: brush the hair out, a drop along the blade, let the tool run for a few seconds, wipe off the excess. XCell, Shorty, X-Ergo, Alpha Up, Absolute Alpha, Empyre and the plain Boosted are other Gamma+ models. You will meet them in videos and at other shops. We do not carry them at the time of writing, so we do not compare them here; a comparison on figures we cannot check does not help you. The CYBORG is the one that does not re-skin. It is a single full-metal body in one finish, and that is the point of it.
