Why the Hi-Viz
A cut in the chair runs in a fixed order: the clipper takes the length and builds the blend, the trimmer sets the line, and the foil shaver finishes. This trimmer is the trimmer in that order. WAHL lists it as designed for “One-Hit Lining” and “Detail & Pattern Work”, and the build follows that job: a T-blade that sets to zero-gap, a rotary motor, and a charging stand at the station so it is ready for the next client.
Key features
- DLC Coated Extra Wide Blade: the T-blade for outlines, line-ups and detail
- 100-240 V~50-60 Hz input
Who it is not for
- Taking the bulk off or cutting a taper - that is a clipper's job: the Wahl Vapor CE Championship Edition Clipper
- The last pass on hair that is already short - that is a foil shaver's job: the Wahl Vanish Shaver
Professional tip
Use the full width of the T-blade for long straight lines and its corner for detail around the ear and in pattern work.
How to use
- With the trimmer off, check the blade. If you set it to zero-gap, do it with the trimmer off.
- Still with it off, check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin.
- Brush the blade clean and oil it.
- Stretch the skin with your free hand and set the outline with light pressure.
- Switch off and stand it back on its charging stand.
Care and maintenance
After each client, switch off and brush the loose hair from the housing and the blade with a dry brush. Oil the blade often, with Wahl clipper oil only: one drop in the centre of the moving top blade and one on each end, then switch the trimmer on to spread it and wipe off the excess. Every so often, oil the heel of the blade too. Wipe the housing only with a soft, slightly damp cloth, never with solvents, bleach, benzene or thinner. If it cuts worse despite regular cleaning and oiling, the blade set needs replacing. The Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml is the bottle for the station; the Wahl Oil Tube 10ml is the tube for your case.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Wahl Hi-Viz designed for?
For the line: outlines, line-ups and detail and pattern work after the clipper has taken the length. WAHL lists it as designed for One-Hit Lining and Detail & Pattern Work. Taking the bulk off is a clipper's job; the last pass on short hair is a foil shaver's.
How long does it run, and how long does it take to charge?
Up to 130 min of run time on its Li-ion battery, from a 45 min charge.
How do I charge it?
On its charging stand, which WAHL describes as space-saving and weighted for secure charging, or with the USB-C charge option. Between clients, stand it back on the stand. For the USB-C option, use only a certified USB power source, such as a computer or a class 2 power supply.
What motor does it have?
A rotary motor at 7200 RPM, with the feature WAHL calls Adaptive Speed Control.
Can I set the blade to zero-gap?
Yes, the blade is zero-gap adjustable. Set it with the trimmer switched off, then check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin.
How much does it weigh?
208 g / 7.2 oz. The housing is WAHL's All-Metal COMFORTCURVE® Design.
How do I look after the blade?
Switch it off and unplug it. After each client, brush the loose hair from the housing and the blade with a dry brush. Oil the blade often with Wahl clipper oil: one drop in the centre of the moving top blade and one on each end, run it briefly and wipe off the excess. Wipe the housing only with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and never rinse it under the tap.
