Why the Detailer
A cut runs in a fixed order: the clipper takes the bulk, the trimmer sets the outline, and the foil shaver finishes. This is the trimmer step, made for line-ups, outlines and design work, and plugged in for the whole of it.
Key features
- Zero-gap, set by you: you decide how close the line sits
- Wide T-blade: long, straight outlines and design work
- Corded: no battery to charge at the chair
Who it is for
- Line-ups, outlines and designs - WAHL builds it for “LINING / DESIGN PRECISION”
- Beard work - WAHL designs it for “FACIAL HAIR DETAIL AND DESIGN”
Who it is not for
- Bulk removal and fades - that is a clipper's job: the Wahl Magic Clip Cordless
- A foil-smooth finish - that is a shaver's job: the Wahl Vanish Shaver
- Work away from a socket - the Wahl Cordless Detailer Li runs cordless
Professional tip
Set the blade with the tool, then check that the moving blade sits just behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin. At zero-gap it cuts very close, so check it again after every adjustment.
How to use
- With the trimmer unplugged, oil the blade.
- Set or check the zero-gap with the Pro-Set tool.
- Plug in and switch on.
- Work the outline with light pressure.
- Switch off, unplug and brush the blade out.
Care and maintenance
Brush the teeth clean after each client. At the end of the day, and when it starts to drag, put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth, run it briefly and wipe off the excess. Keep Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml at the station, Wahl Oil Tube 10ml in the case, and a Wahl Cleaning Brush for the teeth.
Complete your Wahl setup
- Pair it with a clipper - for the bulk before the outline
- Finish the shave - the last pass
- Keep the blade in shape - clipper oil, and a spare Pro-Set tool
Frequently asked questions
What does zero-gapping a trimmer do?
It brings the moving blade right up to the edge of the fixed blade, so the trimmer cuts a very close line. Here the Pro-Set tool does the setting, and you check it after every adjustment before it touches skin.
Does it come zero-gapped?
Its blades adjust to zero-gap, and the tool to set them is included. Set and check the gap yourself before you use it.
