The Wahl Set Launch Combo + Mobile Shaver is a set of two Wahl Professional cartons that we put together: the Launch Combo, a cordless clipper and trimmer in one carton, and the Wahl Mobile Shaver, a cordless travel shaver with a NiMH battery. In the chair, the clipper takes the bulk and builds the blend, the trimmer sets the outline and the detail, and the Mobile Shaver finishes; it does not take off length. All three machines are cordless, the Launch Combo charges over USB-C and the Mobile Shaver is built as a travel shaver, so the set can leave the station with you: to a house call, a show or a pop-up chair. It is the same Launch Combo as in our Wahl Set Launch Combo + Vanish Shaver, with the Mobile Shaver in place of the Vanish.

What to expect in the hand

Professional tip

Brush the blade before you clip a guide on, so no hair holds the guide off the teeth, and keep each Launch Combo machine to its own guides: six for the clipper, three for the trimmer. Use the Mobile Shaver last, once the clipper and trimmer have taken the length down: stretch the skin with your free hand, keep the foil flat and make short, light passes on the neckline and cheek line rather than pressing.

How to use

Charge both Launch Combo machines before the first client, and charge the Mobile Shaver fully before its first use.
Brush the clipper and trimmer blades clean and oil them with clipper oil.
Clip on a guide from the clipper's own row, longer first, then take the bulk and build the blend with the clipper, against the growth.
Set the outline and the detail with the trimmer: skin stretched, light pressure.
Finish with the Mobile Shaver: foil flat to the skin, light pressure. It finishes the cut; it does not take off length.
Switch everything off, brush the hair out of the clipper and trimmer blades, and brush the Mobile Shaver's foil head clean and dry.

Safety: The blades are sharp. Switch a machine off, and disconnect it from the power if it is connected, before you change a guide, adjust a blade or clean it. After any zero-gap adjustment, check with the machine off that the moving blade does not sit past the fixed blade. Do not use a blade with a broken or missing tooth. Clean all three machines dry with a brush: never rinse them under the tap or put them in liquid, and keep them away from wet surfaces at the station. Keep them out of the reach of children.

Care and maintenance

After each client, switch off, brush the hair from the teeth and around the blades of the clipper and trimmer with a soft, dry brush, and wipe the housings with a dry cloth. At the end of the day, and whenever a blade starts to drag, put a few drops of clipper oil, such as the Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml or the Wahl Oil Tube 10ml, across the clipper and trimmer teeth, run them for a few seconds and wipe off the excess. Brush the Mobile Shaver's foil head clean and dry after use.
