Why this set
A cut in the chair runs in a fixed order: the clipper takes the length and builds the blend, the trimmer sets the line, and the foil shaver finishes. This set covers the clipper's part of that order with two machines, and gives each its own work. Neither stands in for the other: with both on the station, each does the job WAHL shows it doing.
Who it is not for
- Outlines, line-ups and beard detail - that is a trimmer's job: the Wahl Beret Stealth Trimmer Black
- A skin-close finish or a skin-smooth head shave - that is a foil shaver's job: the Wahl Vanish Shaver
How to use
- Charge each clipper switched off: plug the cord into the clipper first, then into the outlet.
- Once charged, each clipper runs without the cord. When a battery is low, connect the cord to that clipper and keep working; if a battery is completely run down, let the clipper charge for 1 minute, switched off, before you use it on the cord.
- Switch each clipper on and off at its on/off switch, and off after each use. On each, the blade adjustment lever at the top gives the closest cut; pushing it down gradually increases the cutting length.
- Magic Clip: clip on an attachment guide for the length you want, starting with a long one, take the bulk off against the growth, then blend by moving the lever between passes, flicking out at the end of each stroke.
- Senior: if you set the blade to zero-gap, do it with the clipper off, then check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin. Take the bulk with a guard or over the comb - keeping the comb moving and the clipper flat against it, and letting the comb set the length - against the growth, then taper by moving the lever between passes, flicking out at the end of each stroke.
Care and maintenance
The same care for each clipper. After each client, brush the loose hair from the housing and the blade with a dry brush. Oil the blade often, with Wahl clipper oil only, at three points, the centre of the moving top blade and each end, then switch the clipper on to spread it and wipe off the excess. Every so often, oil the heel of the blade too. Wipe the housing only with a soft, slightly damp cloth, never with solvents, bleach, benzene or thinner. If a clipper cuts worse despite regular cleaning and oiling, its blade set needs replacing. The Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml is the bottle for the station; the Wahl Oil Tube 10ml is the tube for your case.

Frequently asked questions
What is in this set?
Two Wahl Professional cord/cordless clippers, each in a Wahl carton of its own.
What is the red one for, and what is the other for?
WAHL shows the red one at two jobs: “Ideal for bulk hair removal” and “Creates seamless blends when hard or soft line fading”. WAHL shows the other at two others: “Ideal for clipper over comb work” and “Traditional on Scalp Tapering and Fading”.
Are both clippers cord/cordless?
Yes. WAHL names each a lithium-ion cord/cordless clipper, so each works on its battery or on the cord. When a battery is low, connect the cord and keep working; if it is completely run down, let that clipper charge for 1 minute, switched off, before you use it on the cord.
Do the two clippers come in their own Wahl boxes?
Yes. We ship each clipper in a Wahl carton of its own.
Can the other clipper's blade be set to zero-gap?
Yes: its chrome plated blade adjusts to zero-gap. Set it with the clipper switched off, then check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin.
How do I clean and oil the blades?
The same way on each clipper. Switch it off, and unplug it if the cord is connected. After each client, brush the loose hair from the housing and the blade with a dry brush. Oil the blade often with Wahl clipper oil at three points, the centre of the moving top blade and each end, run it briefly and wipe off the excess. Wipe the housing only with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and never rinse a clipper under the tap.
Where do I buy replacement blades for the two clippers?
In our shop, sold separately. The Replacement parts box on this page lists them by name.
