Piur London Hydraluxe Balm (300 g) is the leave-in that closes the Hydraluxe protocol, and the one Hydraluxe product a salon also uses on its own, on any lengths and ends that need frizz control before styling. Piur London describes its GlossFrame Shield System as smoothing the cuticle, sealing in the hydration and helping protect against heat, UV exposure and humidity. It goes on damp or dry hair and is never rinsed.
- What it is: The leave-in sealing step of the Hydraluxe protocol, GlossFrame Shield System
- Hair type: Hair that has had the Hydraluxe steps, or any lengths and ends that need frizz control
- Key actives: Betaine, trehalose, a UV filter, jojoba, sweet almond and sunflower oils, rice protein
- How it is used: A light amount on damp or dry lengths and ends, no rinse
- Format: 300 g, professional use
Why the last Hydraluxe step stays in
Every other Hydraluxe step is rinsed; the Balm is the one that stays, so it is the one that decides how the hydration underneath feels. Its formula carries the same betaine and trehalose as the earlier steps, a lipid film of jojoba, sweet almond and sunflower oils, and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, a UV filter. Piur London's own warning is the craft point: a heavy hand is what turns the hydration underneath into weight.
Key ingredients
- Betaine: a sugar beet derived amino acid.
- Trehalose: a humectant.
- Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate: a UV filter.
- Jojoba, sweet almond and sunflower seed oils: a lipid film. Sweet almond oil is tree-nut derived.
- Hydrolyzed rice protein: a plant protein.
What to expect
Smoother, glossier lengths with less frizz.
Who it is for
- Hair that has completed the Hydraluxe steps
- Any lengths and ends that need frizz control and protection before styling
- Salons that want a leave-in finish from the same system
Who it is not for
- The scalp: lengths and ends only
- A rinse-out treatment: it stays in
- Clients with a tree-nut allergy: sweet almond oil is among its listed actives
- Home use: it is a professional product
Professional tip
Start with less than you think and add to the driest ends after drying. A heavy hand is what turns the hydration into weight.
How to use
Two ways to work it: Piur London's directions, and the way we run it in the salon, with the timing left to Method A.
Method A: manufacturer method
- Apply evenly to damp or dry hair, concentrating on lengths and ends.
- Do not rinse.
- Finish as desired.
Method B: the Brazilian method
- A small amount, warmed between the palms, then lengths and ends, on damp or dry hair. Never the scalp. Salon practice, not one of Piur London's steps.
- Do not rinse; style.
Where it fits in the Piur London range
The Balm closes Hydraluxe: Prime D-Tox, then Hydraluxe Shampoo, then Moisture Infusion, each rinsed, then the Balm, which stays in. In the finishing range, Silk Halo adds shine and 4D-DEFENSE is the daily leave-in protector. The salon protocol sits in Piur London Professional.
Complete and maintain the system
- Prime D-Tox (500 ml): the purify step that opens the service

- Hydraluxe Moisture Infusion (1000 ml): the core hydration step
- Silk Halo (60 ml): the finishing oil
- 4D-DEFENSE (250 ml): the daily leave-in protector
- Piur London Professional: the salon protocols
- Piur London: every Piur range, chosen by hair concern
