What to expect

Once the hair is clarified and dried, Step B lands evenly and the iron sets a consistent result along the whole length, and the Step G seal is what the client still feels a week later. Professional tip

The result lives or dies on two things: how well you dry before Step B and how thin your sections are under the iron. Clarify first, take the hair to about half-dry so the tannin sets rather than steams, then iron in thin, clean sections at a temperature set from your strand test. Leave Step G its full working time before the final rinse: that sealed layer is what makes the blow-out glossy and lasting rather than rough by the weekend. Rinse cool between steps.

How to use

1. Clarify: wash the hair with a clarifying shampoo, such as the Step A Cuticle Prepper, to remove build-up and open the cuticle. Rinse well.
2. Blow the hair to remove about 50 percent of the moisture, giving extra attention to resistant sections.
3. Divide the head into four to six even sections for control.
4. Step B, smooth: apply Capillary Styling off the scalp, section by section from roots to ends, then comb it through so every strand is evenly coated.
5. Leave Step B to process for at least 30 minutes.
6. Rinse well with cool or lukewarm water until it runs clear, removing the product completely, then blow-dry fully.
7. Flat-iron slowly in thin sections, 10 to 20 passes according to the hair, at a temperature set from your strand test.
8. Step G, seal: apply Cuticles Multi-Functional lock by lock on the lengths and tips, comb through, then pass the iron in thin sections to set it.
9. Leave Step G on for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water and finish with your blow-out.
