Salvatore Tanino Therapy Keratin Treatment Kit ABG (2500ml) is Salvatore's Fast Volume Reducer, worked without formaldehyde or glyoxylic acid. It takes bulk and frizz down for a while, then a collagen step helps the fibre recover. Step A clarifies the hair, Step B lays a plant tannin that eases the weight, and Step G carries collagen, keratin and wheat proteins along the outer layer. This is the quick reset, not the fuller A + B smoothing.
At a glance
- Type: salon service, a short-term volume reduction in one box
- Best for: frizzy, bulky or unruly hair a client wants lighter fast
- The chemistry: a plant tannin, plus a collagen-and-protein recovery step
- Free from: formaldehyde and glyoxylic acid, both off the list
- Size: 2500ml box, two 1000ml bottles and one 500ml mask
Why this service
A plus B on its own is the longer smoothing; add Step G and the box changes character. The tannin still calms frizz and drops weight, but the collagen step turns the service toward recovery, so the fibre leaves conditioned rather than only smoothed. We reach for it when a client wants the bulk gone in a visit and the hair left kinder, not a months-long straight finish. Made in Brazil at Salvatore's plant in Presidente Prudente.
What is in the kit
Three products, run as one service. Step A is the Cuticle Prepper, a clarifying shampoo that lifts product and buildup so the tannin meets a clean fibre. Step B is the Capillary Styling reducer, the plant polyphenol combed through and set per Salvatore's professional protocol. Step G is the Cuticles Multifunctional, a rinse-out step that lays collagen, keratin and wheat proteins along the surface. Each pack carries its own ingredient list.
What to expect
Hair comes out lighter through the lengths, the frizz calmed and the bulk noticeably down, and it blows out faster. Because this is the short reset, the effect eases over the following weeks rather than holding like a full smoothing, and it grows out softly with no hard line. A gentle aftercare wash at home stretches it further. The finish reads tidy and natural, never glassy.
Who it is for
- Clients whose main goal is less weight and calmer flyaways, achieved in one visit
- Colour and bleach clients, since the tannin carries no formaldehyde releaser, after a strand test
- Anyone who wants a lighter feel and conditioned hair, short of committing to a full smoothing
Who it is not for
- A client after a permanent, poker-straight look, which this short reset is not
- Hair too fragile to take the service, where a strand test warns you off first
- A home user on their own, since the tannin step belongs in professional hands
Professional tip
The result lives in the prep, and the slip we see most is a rushed clarify. Wash twice with Step A until the hair squeaks, because any residue keeps the tannin from laying evenly. Take clean, thin sections through Step B, and give Step G its full time so the recovery half of the service actually lands. We would rather you slow down here than chase the clock.
How to use
Run the service in order, from the clarify to the recovery step, on hair you have planned and parted. The tannin wants an even canvas, so do not rush the wash or crowd the sections.
Keep your parts thin and your passes patient, because the reset is only as even as the work you put in. Let the cuticle step sit before you close.
- Clarify with the wash. Shampoo twice with Step A and rinse, because product on the strand keeps the tannin from binding evenly.
- Lay the reducer. Towel the hair, comb Step B through in sections and leave it its pack time, so the plant tannin eases the bulk before you rinse and dry.
- Set per the protocol. Work each part the way Salvatore's professional protocol directs, since the finish depends on an even, measured pass rather than a guessed one.
- Work Step G through. Apply Step G, leave it twenty to thirty minutes and rinse, so the collagen and proteins condition the fibre as the service closes.
External use only. Avoid the eyes and rinse with running water if contact happens. Work in a ventilated area and keep the packs closed, below 40 degrees and out of sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets. Declared fragrance allergens differ between the three products; check each pack before the service. If any abnormal reaction occurs, stop and seek advice. See each pack for the full ingredient list and declared allergens.
Where it fits in the range
ABG is the fast reset of the system, the box for a client who wants bulk and frizz gone in a visit and the hair kinder for it. When the fibre is very damaged, run the reconstruction kit first; for a longer-lasting straight finish, the fuller A + B smoothing is the other road. Which letter step does what across the range, and which kit is which protocol, is set out in our Tanino Therapy steps A to O guide. The rest of the range sits under Salvatore Tanino Therapy.

Frequently asked questions
What is the ABG kit for?
It is Salvatore's quick answer to bulk and frizz: three steps that lighten the hair in one visit and leave it conditioned, rather than a lasting straightening. The wash clarifies, the tannin eases the weight, and the collagen step conditions, so the blow-dry is faster.
Does it contain formaldehyde?
No formaldehyde and no glyoxylic acid. The weight comes down through plant polyphenols, set per the protocol. Check each pack for the full ingredient list and the declared fragrance allergens, which are not the same across the three products.
Is this the same as a keratin smoothing?
No. The fuller A plus B smoothing is the longer-lasting straight service, while A plus B plus G is the quicker reset that drops weight and frizz and leaves the hair conditioned. Choose by how long your client wants the result to hold.
Is it safe on coloured or bleached hair?
It is made for it, because the tannin carries no formaldehyde releaser. Always run a strand test first on lightened hair, and judge the result on that section before you commit to the full head.
How do you make it last?
A gentle, sulphate-aware wash at home holds it longer, though the reset is short by design and eases over the weeks. Send the client home with an aftercare routine and time the next visit to the regrowth.
