Salvatore Tanino Therapy Max Curly Nutrition Kit MNO Step M + Step N + Step O 2000ml is the professional three-step curl-nutrition service for dry, curly and wavy hair: the Step M Curly Collagen cleansing shampoo, the Step N Curly Hydrolipidic biocollagen mask and the Step O curl-and-wave control leave-in. It follows the way curls actually behave: the cleanse clears build-up so moisture can get in, the biocollagen mask rebuilds the hydrolipidic film the coil shape leaves the lengths short of, and the leave-in defines and holds the pattern. Run as a back-bar service, it leaves the hair soft, defined and easy to manage.

  • Hair type: curly and wavy hair, including coloured or previously smoothed lengths that run dry
  • Size: 2000ml (1000 + 500 + 500), the full curl-nutrition service (full INCI of each step on its product image)

Why cleanse, mask and leave-in

Curly and wavy hair is drier by nature: the coil slows the scalp's own oils on their way down the strand, so the mid-lengths and ends sit short of moisture and lose their spring. A cleanse-only or a mask-only approach leaves half the job undone, which is why the service runs three steps. Step M, the Curly Collagen cleansing shampoo, cleans gently and lifts product and mineral build-up so the steps that follow are taken up rather than blocked, while collagen begins to guard the porous lengths against dryness. Step N, the Curly Hydrolipidic mask, is the biocollagen mask with D-Panthenol and shea butter that replaces the hydrolipidic film and the internal moisture the fibre is missing. Step O, the curl-and-wave leave-in, is worked through damp hair and left in to define, control frizz and hold the curl as it dries. Together they clean, feed and define, in that order, because moisture only lands on a clean, open fibre and definition only holds on a hydrated one. See the full INCI of each step on its product image.

What to expect

Expect curly or wavy hair to leave the chair softer, glossier and easier to comb, with the pattern more defined and far less frizz between washes. The mask does the deep moisture work over its full processing time, and the leave-in shapes and holds, so the curl keeps its shape as it dries rather than swelling and frizzing. On coloured or previously processed lengths, where porosity is highest, the change in feel is the most obvious, because that is where the fibre had lost the most moisture. It conditions and defines the fibre through a collagen and curl-care system; it is not a smoothing or straightening service and does not change the hair's structure.

Who it is for

  • Curly and wavy hair that runs dry and needs a deep cleanse, moisture and definition in one service
  • Curls that lose their pattern and frizz between washes and need the hydrolipidic film rebuilt
  • Coloured or previously smoothed curly hair that has gone porous and dry

Who it is not for

  • Anyone after a smoothing or straightening result: this is curl nutrition, not a smoothing service
  • Very fine, straight hair that a rich biocollagen mask and a curl leave-in would weigh down
  • A stylist who rinses the Step O leave-in out instead of leaving it in to set the curl

Professional tip

Read the porosity before you start and match the mask time to it: coloured or heat-stressed lengths drink it in and can take the full time, healthier hair needs less. Keep the mask on the mid-lengths and ends, off the scalp, and give it its working time, since gentle warmth from a cap or the dryer helps it take. For the leave-in, towel the hair to damp rather than wet so the product is not diluted, work it through strand by strand and scrunch from the ends up to encourage the coil. Let the hair dry naturally or diffuse on low heat, and do not brush it out once it has set, or the definition breaks up into frizz.

How to use

Read this as one back-bar service, not three separate products. It is a curl-nutrition service for dry, curly or wavy hair, run at the backwash and the chair on freshly washed hair. The amounts below are a professional guide: use enough to cover the hair without flooding the scalp, more for long, dense or porous hair and less for fine or short hair. One kit covers several full-head services.

The order is deliberate: cleanse to open the fibre, mask to put the moisture back, leave-in to define and hold. Moisture only lands on a clean fibre and definition only holds on a hydrated one, so the steps are not interchangeable.

  1. Step M, cleanse and prepare. On wet hair, massage the Curly Collagen shampoo through the scalp and lengths, rinse, and repeat once. This double cleanse lifts product, oil and mineral build-up so the mask that follows is taken up evenly instead of sitting on residue, and the collagen begins to draw moisture back into the porous lengths. Rinse well.
  2. Step N, replenish moisture. Apply the Curly Hydrolipidic mask from the mid-lengths to the ends, off the scalp, and comb through so it is even on every strand. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes, using gentle warmth to help it take, then rinse. Biocollagen, D-Panthenol and shea butter rebuild the hydrolipidic film and the internal moisture the coil leaves the lengths short of. This is the step that lets the curl spring: a dry curl stays slack, a hydrated one recoils.
  3. Step O, define and hold. Towel the hair to damp, then work the curl-and-wave leave-in through the lengths strand by strand and scrunch from the ends upward to shape the pattern. Do not rinse. Let the hair dry naturally or diffuse on low heat. The leave-in defines, controls frizz and holds the curl as it sets. Send the client home on the Curl Hair Trio to keep the result between visits.

For professional use. Do a patch test if the hair or scalp is sensitive. The Step M shampoo and Step N mask contain Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal and Citronellol; check the declared allergens on each product image before the service. Keep out of sunlight and store below 40C. Avoid contact with the eyes; if it occurs, rinse thoroughly with running water. Keep each pack closed after use and out of reach of children and pets. If irritation occurs, stop use and seek advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is in the MNO kit and what does each step do?

Three products: Step M Curly Collagen cleansing shampoo 1000ml cleans gently and clears build-up, Step N Curly Hydrolipidic mask 500g is the biocollagen moisture mask that rebuilds the hydrolipidic film, and Step O curl-and-wave control leave-in 500ml defines and holds the curls. Together they are the professional curl-nutrition service, cleanse then mask then leave-in, for dry, curly or wavy hair.

In what order are they used?

Cleanse first with Step M and rinse. Then apply the Step N mask on the lengths, leave it 20 to 30 minutes and rinse. Finally, towel off the excess water and work the Step O leave-in through damp hair, scrunching from the ends up, and do not rinse. Let the hair dry naturally. The service runs cleanse, mask, leave-in, and each step sets up the next.

Is the Step O leave-in rinsed out?

No. Step O is a leave-in: work it through damp hair after the mask, spread it evenly, scrunch to shape the curls and leave it in. Do not rinse it out. Let the hair dry naturally or diffuse on low heat, and avoid brushing the curls out once they have set. Use a small amount and build up if the hair needs more.

Is it a smoothing or straightening kit?

No. The MNO kit is a curl-nutrition service that cleanses, adds moisture and defines the curls, but none of the three steps smooths or straightens the hair and none changes its structure. It is made to support and shape curls and waves, not remove them. If a smoothing service is wanted, that is a separate Tanino Therapy step, not part of this kit.

Can it be used on colour-treated hair?

Yes. The service suits curly and wavy hair, including colour-treated lengths that tend to run dry, since the mask replenishes moisture and the leave-in helps hold the curl. Keep the mask and leave-in to the mid-lengths and ends, away from the scalp, and use a patch test first if the hair or scalp is sensitive.
