The Wahl 5-Star Vapor Cord/Cordless Clipper is the Wahl Professional clipper built around the F32 FADEOUT™ blade: a blade that adjusts to zero-gap across a 0.5 mm - 1.2 mm cutting range, in one clipper that carries the whole cut, from the bald band up through the fade. It runs an 8000 RPM brushless motor for up to 2.5 hours on its Li-ion battery.

Why the Vapor
It is the clipper for the fade: WAHL lists it as designed for “Seamless Balding and Fading” and “Close Fading Techniques”. Its blade is the reason to choose it, and WAHL sums it up in one line: “Go from bald to fade with an innovative adjustable balding blade.”

Professional tip
Set the bald band first with the blade closed right down, then open it in small steps with the lever as you work up, flicking out at the end of each stroke so the fade is laid down in stages.
How to use
- Before the first client, brush the blade clean and put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth. If you set the blade to zero-gap, do it with the clipper off.
- Still with it off, check that the moving blade sits behind the edge of the fixed blade before it touches skin.
- Take the length down with one of the seven guides, working against the growth.
- Switch off and brush the hair out of the blade before you put the clipper down.
Care and maintenance
After each client, switch off and brush the hair from the teeth and around the blade with a soft, dry brush, then wipe the housing with a dry cloth. At the end of the day, and whenever the blade starts to drag, put a few drops of clipper oil across the teeth, run the clipper for a few seconds and wipe off the excess. The Wahl Special Blade Oil 200ml is the bottle for the station; the Wahl Oil Tube 10ml is the tube for your case.

How do I look after the blade?
