Piur London S.P.R. Full Protocol (4-Step Kit) puts the four products of the S.P.R. reconstruction service in one listing: S.P.R. Shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect and Acidic Closure, each 1000 ml. It is for salons introducing the full service, on clients with a heavy chemical or heat history whose fibre reads porous, and Piur London puts the appointment at roughly 30 minutes' chair time.
- What it is: S.P.R. Shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect and Acidic Closure
- Hair type: Hair with a heavy chemical or heat history whose fibre reads porous
- Format: Four products, 1000 ml each
- How it is used: Shampoo, infusion, seal over it, one rinse, acidic close
- Chair time: Roughly 30 minutes, as Piur London states it
Why the S.P.R. protocol is sold as one kit
The S.P.R. service only works in sequence, so the kit is a map of four products by name and role. The shampoo prepares the fibre. Protein Infusion lays down its proteins. Seal & Protect goes on over it with no rinse in between and locks it in, and the two share one rinse. Acidic Closure finishes at pH 3.5. Piur London states that each product points to the next, so the sequence is hard to run out of order.
Key ingredients
- S.P.R. Shampoo: gum arabic extract and hydrolyzed corn, soy and wheat proteins, among its listed actives.
- S.P.R. Protein Infusion: hydrolyzed keratin, plant proteins, marine algae and free amino acids.
- S.P.R. Seal & Protect: Abyssinian oil, plant proteins, marine algae and a conditioning silicone.
- S.P.R. Acidic Closure: vinegar and glycolic, lactic and gluconic acid with fruit extracts, at pH 3.5.
What to expect
Results build over repeat services; the first one shows most at the ends.
Who it is for
- Salons introducing the full S.P.R. reconstruction service
- Clients with a heavy chemical or heat history whose fibre reads porous
- Clients you will send home on the S.P.R. Home Care range, as Piur London suggests
Who it is not for
- A client with ten minutes at the basin: Mask Therapy is the short option
- Clients who want a vegan service: the infusion contains animal-derived keratin
- Home use: all four are professional products
Professional tip
Quote the chair time as roughly half an hour and say that it covers the four steps, not the consultation or the blow-dry.
How to use
Two ways to work it: Piur London's directions, and the way we run it in the salon, with the timing left to Method A.
Method A: manufacturer method
- S.P.R. Shampoo: apply to wet hair and scalp, massage 2 to 3 minutes, rinse.
- Protein Infusion: apply to mid-lengths and ends, leave 10 minutes (heat optional), do not rinse.
- Seal & Protect: apply over the infusion, leave 10 minutes (heat optional), rinse thoroughly.
- Acidic Closure: apply to mid-lengths and ends, leave 5 minutes, rinse thoroughly and finish as desired.
Method B: the Brazilian method
- Set out all four bottles before you start, in order, so nothing is reached for mid-service. Salon practice, not one of Piur London's steps.
- A timer for every timed step; one rinse only, after Seal & Protect.
- Run each product's own method in order: shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect, Acidic Closure.
Where it fits in the Piur London range
The kit is the whole S.P.R. service. Each product also has its own listing. Between visits Piur London pairs it with the S.P.R. Home Care range: shampoo, conditioner and mask, sold separately. Mask Therapy is the ten-minute alternative, and Stabilizer the companion spray for other chemical services. All of it sits in Piur London Professional.

Frequently asked questions
What is in the kit?
Four products, 1000 ml each: S.P.R. Shampoo, S.P.R. Protein Infusion, S.P.R. Seal & Protect and S.P.R. Acidic Closure, the four steps of the service.
Can the S.P.R. steps be skipped or used out of order?
No. It is a closed four-step system and each step points to the next. Protein Infusion is not rinsed before Seal & Protect goes on over it, and Acidic Closure always closes the service. Running the steps out of order, or rinsing early, loses the infusion.
Is the S.P.R. protocol vegan or formaldehyde-free?
No. Piur London states that the four S.P.R. protocol products, Shampoo, Protein Infusion, Seal & Protect and Acidic Closure, do not carry a vegan or formaldehyde-free seal. In the Sensorial Repair line only Mask Therapy carries the V-Label vegan certification.
Do I need Stabilizer or Mask Therapy as well?
Not for the S.P.R. service itself. Mask Therapy is the ten-minute option for when there is no time for the full protocol, and Stabilizer is the companion product for colour, bleach or other chemical services. Both are separate products.
